million illegal election denounced as director of Conacine
Associates National Film Board (Conacine) alleged that the election of the new director of that institution, by members of the Ministry of Culture, was illegitimate since it ignored the rules by choosing one of three candidates from the shortlist chosen by the qualifying committee, without participation of the board, said yesterday the producer and member of Association of Workers of Bolivia Image (ATIB), Homer Rhodes.
By knowing the claim, the Ministry of Culture, whose representative is chairman of Conacine, called an emergency meeting was made yesterday in La Paz, to choose the new director, but the meeting was canceled.
Producer Gerardo Guerra, representing Santa Cruz, said he came the appointment, but found the doors locked and could not know why the meeting was adjourned and the time it was postponed. Reynaldo Lima, representative of La Paz, undertook to provide a more detailed explanation at the end of a working meeting, but then could not be contacted.
